Another beautiful spring day for skiing at Breckenridge. My class today consisted of nine level four kids. We called ourselves the Slushpuppies due to the, shall we say, high moisture content in the snow! The kids had a a great time exploring Park Lane and Power Line runs off chair 5, as well as the always fun and challenging Four O'Clock to Sawmill to Snowflake chair loop.

We worked on building our edge ski/flat ski skills by applying the edge work we started yesterday to various tasks and maneuvers. We worked on side slipping, adding a 'slipping/skidding' motion to some of our turns, and of course, Hockey stops. A skidded turn requires a low edge angle to merely bleed off speed, while a hockey stop needs a higher edge angle to, well, STOP!
We finished off the day with a ride up the Colorado chair and a run down Springmeyer. This was the first blue run for several of the kids!

We did have a slight bit of mixed precipitation to finish the day with temperatures dropping about 15 degrees. Always good to be prepared for quick changes in the weather in the Colorado High Country
