Riding with Aaron Muss - Super-fun days

DSC02847-1.JPGI got to ride with AJ the other day! I've been riding with him alot each winter for the last five years, but since he's getting older and is such a responsible kid, he got a chance to live in Breckenridge most of the winter and ride and train with other coaches and Summit County programs. He's got a tutor, and is going to school every morning before riding. So less private lessons for AJ and me...oh well...But we got to ride for two days, super-fun and productive for his race training.

Here's the video from our two days together. We worked on having fun, and some freestyle riding the first day, and Aaron came out on his race board for the second day, to train for his race tomorrow. We worked on some heel side techniques for powering the turn the way he does on his toe turns on that race board. He even took a few runs on skis in the afternoon. AJ is a talented athlete. We I had him try to power the board during the heel side carve the same way he was on the toe side, he was able to pick it up and play with it right away. Versatile riders like AJ are able to change their tactics and movements at will, for what's necessary for the speed and terrain.

Enjoy the video.
