Getting Started

After a fun summer of cycling, hiking and alot of motorcycling, it's time to start thinking about using my skiing muscles again.  I must admit, I could have started this earlier than mid October, but better late than never!
My Siberian husky, Sky, continues to be my motivator.  He's always ready no matter what the weather is like.  So even on those windy days, we try to get out at some point and get that heart rate up.
We started slow (he's nearly 12 so I have to keep that in mind too) and stay on the bike path and head to the river.  This is a familiar route for both of us but we are stepping out a bit faster than usual.
As the days pass, we are getting a bit more ambitious.  The Colorado Trail, Bear Creek trail, S Mountain and just about any place we can go to keep moving and working those quads.  That's my focus for now -- my legs.  I try to be out there at least one hour at a time.
Even at home while cooking dinner, I find myself doing squats and stretches.  Like I said, it's a start -- more later!
